Meet Steve Deakin
Steve Deakin first picked up a tennis racquet at 5 years old and learned the game with his Dad. Deakin would go on to win 11 Canadian National Titles. He is a formerly ranked ATP player and a 2-time Senior World Team player and Captain.
When Steve suffered a tennis injury in 2017, he found pickleball and never went back to the big court. He is now a multi-major medalist, 5-time Canadian National Champion along with many Pro Doubles Titles. He runs clinics and camps across Canada in between his competitive schedule.

The thing about moving….is packing up and unearthing the past. These are the days that got me to where I am today. So when you question pb players that came from tennis, remember they’ve had years of training and competing which can be translated to training the next gens.

Feeling incredibly grateful and humbled after my final main draw tournament. Thank you to the PPA, the players, and all the friends and fans who took the time to send messages, stop me with a hand shake, or share a kind word. Your support has meant more than I can ever express, and I’m leaving this chapter with a full heart and so much appreciation. ❤️✨ Thanks to my pro buddies that wrote me a little something in the book my wife put together. I promise you all I will cherish these memories.
@leftyhendershot you were a breath of fresh air to play a match with and I know you have a very bright future in this sport. @jaimeoncins you are a true talented beast on court. Thanks for trying me out and getting us that Gold. @ivanjakovljevic.pb gotta thank my very good buddy for playing that last Men’s dubs with me. You kept me from blubbering 💪🏻

The Semi Final Saturday of the Worlds in Dallas after getting home from the Worlds in Dallas. I just can’t quit this !! #pickleballislife
We lost our Gold status today finally to Dave and Kitri in a 3 game match. They outplayed us! Well done team. Big thanks always to Julie Johnson for carrying me once again….we’ll get ‘em next time !!

I know it’s starting to look like the same photo of myself and Altaf but I promise you this was today’s Senior Pro Men’s division in Dallas. PPA Vegas Cup was a blast. I got to spend the week with my son and hit the podium twice with @altaf_merchant_pb and @julie_johnsonpickleball .
