This intensive three-day competitive combine, hosted by Steve Deakin Pickleball, is designed to select Team Canada to compete in the Major League Pickleball (MLP) Mid-Season Tournament in Grand Rapids from July 8–12, 2026.
The selected team—comprised of three women and three men—will receive flight and accommodations for the event. Must hold an up to date Canadian passport.
Team selection will be based on a comprehensive evaluation process, including match results and key team-based attributes, with the goal of forming a dynamic, cohesive, and supportive unit.
Pickleball Canada is proud to support SDP’s MLP Combine experience through strategic alignment, marking an exciting collaboration to strengthen high-performance pickleball in Canada.
To participate in this combine, you must hold a Dupr rating of 5.0 or higher. Because we understand that Dupr ratings can still have a variance in these early years, anyone under this rating that feels this does not reflect their actual skill level, please email Steve to provide explanation. steverdeakin@gmail.com
Event Schedule:
Friday: Practice and recreational play, allowing competitors to settle in and prepare. 4pm start (optional)
Saturday & Sunday: Competitive, rotational match play featuring singles, gender doubles, and mixed doubles, along with a series of interviews and seminar sessions.
Lunch will be provided on both days.
This combine offers a unique opportunity to compete at the highest level and earn a place on The Team Canada for Professional International Competition.
